It is my pleasure to present the findings of my
research on toxicology in Siddha medicine
early Siddhas practiced toxicology as a sub
branch of Siddha medicine. The category of
toxinology, toxic practice and treatment methods
used by them reveals that they have a clear
knowledge on poisonous organism including
animals, plants and microorganism that causes
food poison.
I have included comprehensive information
on toxicology of Siddha medicine in this book from
the findings of my research of three years post
graduate study to understand everyone on animal
toxins in Siddha medicine.
According to the information gathered from
traditional medical literatures such as “Visha
Arudam”, “Visha Vidhya Sindhamani”, “Siddha
Arudam”, “Nanju Murivu Nool” and “Kulaseharam”
and the information of traditional medical
practitioners in Tamil Nadu, India who are
specialist in toxicology and the finding of modern
zoology experts.
Even there are some difference between
Siddha Medicine and modern science on
toxicology. Such as number of toxin I am trying to
compare the information of traditional medicine
and finding of modern science. I want to secure our
traditional medical methods and hand it over to
our next generation.
I
I strongly believe that this publication will
provide valuable information on toxicology in
Siddha medicine for school students, medical
students, physicians and researchers to
understand the Siddha toxicology and Siddha
medicine.
